Meridian Heritage Festival
Each year the Meridian Historical Village partners with both the Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department and the Nokomis Learning Center to put together historical activities related to the 19th century and prior. Visitors enjoy early American demonstrations and exhibits in the Village as well as children's activities and games. Performers in previous years have included Lee Mulder (an Irish/ Scottish Folk Singer), The Lost Hitchhikers and Ardans School of Irish Dance. For the last two years we have enjoyed watching various teams from an 1860's baseball club demonstrate 1860's style "base ball." We hope they will be able to join us again in 2014!
The Friends of Historic Meridian invite you to participate in the 16th Annual Meridian Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10 am to 3 pm.
The Festival is held at the Meridian Historical Village located in Central Park, 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos. We hope you will consider participating in our event to highlight your organization and your area of interest.
There are three types of participation available: 1) you can request space for an information table and simply provide information regarding your organization for the general public; 2) you can demonstrate a pioneer or cultural skill in period dress (if available); or 3) as a professional food vendor. Vendors need to pay $35 for their spot and online registration is available for vendors below. Demonstrators and exhibitors are not required to pay a fee to participate in the festival.
All demonstrators and exhibitors may register for the Festival by contacting the Village office by email or by phone at 517-347-7300 or by completing the form below.
